About Graeme Martin

Graeme Martin grew up on a cereal and sheep farm in Western Australia and graduated with a PhD in reproduction from The University of Western Australia (UWA) in 1981. He then worked for 2 years in France (INRAe) and 3 years in Scotland (MRC). He returned to UWA in 1986. He reached the level of Professor (Chair) in 2001. His research focuses on environmental influences on reproduction, mostly in the sheep and the emu. He has trained 40+ PhD students and published 370+ peer-reviewed papers (h = 53). He used his experience to develop ‘clean, green and ethical’ livestock management, a theme he incorporated into ‘UWA Future Farm 2050’.
